Susie Stone is embarking upon a new project to gain an insight into the working world of creative design – in whatever field that may be. The themes being explored are under the umbrella of ‘pure and applied design’, asking people who work in creative fields to speak about how they reconcile the relationship of the exploratory and imaginative with the practical and commercial.

To open up a dialogue around the idea of inspiration versus practice, Susie Stone is hosting a series of talks at her Bermondsey Street Studio. The series begins with an evening ‘In Conversation with Roland Klein’, the multi-talented Fashion Designer turned Interior Designer.

Roland is a Designer whose career credits include working at the couture houses of Christian Dior and Jean Patou, assisting the formidable Karl Lagerfeld, before designing for Marcel Fenez and then starting his own label. As a Fashion Designer he is known for chic, classic and vibrant womenswear which is as stylish today as when first created. He has now taken his extraordinary skill and attention to detail into the world of Interior Design, starting his own company which boasts some of the most beautiful interiors in London and around Europe.

The advert features actress Melanie Thierry dancing in a modern style influenced by the effects of the fragrance, which is supposedly the addiction. 29 seconds into the advert (which can be viewed below) the actress points to her arm whilst she is dancing, apparently this is all it took to ban the advert from the UK. Reports from WWD reveal that the advert received 13 complaints from Britain’s Advertising Standards Agency, removing it from our screens.
