adidas SLVR’s Spring/Summer 2012 campaign, shot by fashion photographer Willy Vanderperre, takes inspiration from the sport of fencing, as is the new collection. The precision and elegance of fencing is fused with colour pops for a fresh visual language. The images focus on sophisticated, white tailored silhouettes which echo the fencing uniform juxtaposed with bold primary colours.

Forever striving forward the fusion of tailoring and sportswear is highly appreciated in my opinion, as you know you know if you could a tracksuit all day for work and leisure, you blatantly would. This is where adidas SLVR come in, as they continue to create highly functional and sophisticated sportswear. The video shot extends the idea of adidas SLVR’s ethos whilst introducing the dynamic moves of a fencer set to a beat which is reminiscent of the sport’s rhythm.

Dirk Schönberger, adidas’ Creative Director of Sport Style, has stated, “SLVR relies on the technical excellence of adidas as a brand, but pushes the limits of sportswear further and does not look back.It’s about staying open to ideas, concepts and a lifestyle. With SLVR it is the fusion of tailoring and sportswear to create something that I believe is relevant to culture right now.”

adidas being one the Olympic Games’ official sponsors for London 2012, they’ve created this patriotic collection of footwear and apparel. The three stripe brand have used our nation’s Union Jack motif and a colour palette inspired by the Team GB kit from the Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games, and continue this relationship.

The footwear range sees three classic Originals styles, including the classic Nizza Hi CL adicolour Team GB with a heel zip, the Hillsdale adicolor Team GB and the Court Star adicolor Team GB featuring a jersey three stripe and collar execution. All styles feature the red, white and blue three stripe tape both externally and internally, that adds the subtle touches to the shoes.

Making up the apparel side of things, sees wardrobe staples likes tees, a polo, various hoodies, a top and both jersey and fleece bottoms, that all come in black and grey marl, given a colour pop from the collection’s red, white and blue three stripe tape detailing. This collection’s available exclusively in the United Kingdom and sold at adidas retail spots. The footwear’s out now, whilst the apparel line is due out on November 1st 2011.

After the release of the UNDFTD Top Ten Hi, Bape Superstar 80’s and Micropacer, as part of their B-Sides series, adidas are set to release the Foot Patrol Campus 80’s edition. As the official release date approaches, we can have a preview to what we’re in for.

The B-Sides Collection celebrates key adidas Originals collaborations from the past with an updated perspective. In 2007, Foot Patrol collaborated to create a Campus 80 that was a simple variation of the timeless classic from Trefoils, with minor alterations – the replacement of the inner facing three stripes with a snakeskin variant. This time round in 2011, both parties have revised the design again. Now in place of the snakeskin is pony hair and it comes in a black and navy colourway. Stay tuned for a release date as they’ll be dropping at Foot Patrol in extremely limited quantities.

adidas Originals have conjured a B-Sides effort related to the ridiculously popular and hyped BAPE Superstar 80s that dropped in 2003. This due release claims to offer the ‘untold story’ behind the original highly sought after adidas x BAPE collaboration.

These B-Sides remain faithful to the subtle approach of the original release – complete with neutral suede upper with navy leather stripes and matching ankle collar. A gold foil BAPE logo sits on the tongue, as well as an embossed black logo on the heel print, and a grey BAPE camo-pattern lines the in-sole. “Trèfle en chevrons et BAPE” is printed along the famous three stripes, translates as “Trefoil and Chevrons BAPE”. Probably. (If anyone can offer a proper translation, then leave a comment!)

This ultra clean shoe is a definite hit and even if you’re not BAPE fan, you can’t deny that you like them. They’ll be sure ocausing a stir like its predecessor, when they’ll be available this Saturday 13th August at BAPE’s London store, adidas’ no6 concept store in London and select adidas Originals retail stores.

As we look forward to the London 2012 Olympic Games next year, adidas bring Snoop Dogg and Warren G to join British triple jumper Phillips Idowu in a 3-on-3 basketball match against Team GB’s ballers, down in the Olympic borough of Greenwich. The match marks the one year to go countdown for the games to commence. Watch Idowu put his triple jumping skills into action with some left-field help from his rapper team mates!

Just in time for the Wimbledon finals, this elegant adidas Tournament Pack has arrived on the scene.

The ‘Tournament Pack’ from adidas has been a staple in the Vintage range for a couple of seasons now, bringing back iconic court shoes in premium materials. For this spring and summer, one-to-one reintroductions from adidas make a point of original tennis shoes from the 1970’s and 80’s. The few classics that haven’t been seen in a while, here are Nastase Super ‘76, Forrest Hill ’72, Rod Laver ‘70 and Stan Smith ‘77.

All the styles are built of a combination of leather/nubuck and soft leather uppers, perforated linings for ventilation and a gold laser etched ‘Tournament Edition’ motif with crossed tennis rackets on the tongue featuring the iconic Trefoil in them. Classic subtle colourways of green, gold and black all on white are used, and to top it all off with, they come in a special edition green adidas box.

They’re available now in-store and by mail order from Foot Patrol.

adidas SLVR have unveiled their campaign for their Autumn Winter 2011 collection, as the brand continue to redefine casual wear as smart, sleek and effortlessly elegant that suits life on the move.

This season’s campaign builds on the collection’s inspiration of space travel. It visualises the brand’s futuristic vision which combines both technology and luxury in a strong and dramatic campaign. The series of different layouts communicate the scope of the brand – effortless elegance to stylish function; tailored silhouettes to casual wear – by combining two opposing looks in one visual layout.

Following their recent London store opening, fashion sportswear brand Y-3 have launched their very own online store, that’s been timed with the arrival of the Spring/Summer 2011 collection in-store. This launch concludes marking ten years of a successful partnership between adidas and Japanese designer, Yohji Yamamoto.

The online store will carry the full range including men’s and women’s apparel, footwear, accessories and kids. It’ll be accessible in Europe, Russia, the United States and across select Asian countries. Further regions will open in the near future with languages localised in German, French, English, Italian and Japanese; so this will be good for all you international folk.

Cool Cats Leo’ Scarf

French electro music label, Ed Banger Records (home to the likes of Justice, Uffie, Mr Ozio and Busy P) and Parisian graphic designer So Me’s joint venture, Cool Cats; produce, well… cool stuff. Cool Cats present this football culture inspired scarf that features an original leopard print designed by So-Me. The Leo’ Scarf has two different faces – a crazy side sees So Me’s all-over ‘Scarf’ bubble lettering, and the other’s plain with Cool Cats’ font logos on the ends. Protect ya neck in style!

adidas’ popular Stan Smith gets the animal print treatment, giving this terrace classic a new spin. The shoe’s upper is made of zebra print faux fur, making this a limited edition release. White D-ring eyelets feature in place of standard lacelets and give the trainer that extra edge.

These are available from End Clothing now at £99.

The Nizza is one of adidas’ enduring styles having been subject to some great reworkings of late and this one is definitely a fine moment. Joining adidas’ Stan Smith Zebra in the brand’s Spring/Summer 11 ‘Animal Pack’, this shoe adds a giraffe print faux-fur upper and D-Ring strap to the humble basketball classic.

Clarks Originals are feeling the zebra print and feature it on two of their classic shoes. The Desert Boot sees the distinctive black and white print on faux fur across the whole upper, built on their signature crepe sole. It is a rather wild choice of footwear, but ultimate props to the gentlemen who can rock it.

On the other hand, the Wallabee plays the zebra print on a more subtle note as it only features on the toe box in faux fur, whereas the rest of the shoe maintains classic Wallabee styling. Black suede builds the rest of the shoe’s upper on that comfy crepe sole.

The Desert Boot is available at the brand’s wesbite for £89, while the Wallabee can only be bought in-store at any good Clarks Originals stockists for £75.

Dr. Martens have taken their famous core welted sole and combined a zebra print that’s wrapped round the shoe’s upper in a high quality hair-on leather. The animal print makes this a luxurious, premium choice whilst keeping Dr. Martens’ renowned edge.

Japanese designer Kuraishi Kazuki has worked with adidas’ on his own Originals by Originals collection, and presents this reworked Stan Smith in it. It’s a fusion of a classic silhouette and contemporary Japanese design continue.

The Eyelet is in essence a Stan Smith vintage with metal eyelet detail along the placket. A subtle premium leather upper is accented with a leopard print moire moving image heel tab. Kazuki’s trademark heel pull-up features on the back of this limited edition release.

Chris Law (C-Law) is one of the original sneaker heads from back in the day. I remember coming in to the sneaker business when Crooked Tongues was just launching and C-Law was there with a couple of the others in the office and really took the time to give me advice whenever I needed it. Nothing has changed and has been a true gent’ ever since.

He is now working with Addict as their lead designer and this video shows his history and passion for footwear and for designing. Im really looking forward to the new Addict collection this coming Autumn/Winter. I will be getting hold of a few pairs from this video, if the wallet allows me!
