Rizlab Presents The Past, Presents And Future Of Dance Music – Friendly Fires Mix and Preview
Written by Denis
Tuesday, 6 September 2011

As we recently announced Friendly Fires’ involvement with Rizlab’s amazing one-off musical exploration of ‘The Past, Present and Future of Dance Music’, the countdown’s on to this weekend as it all goes live at this year’s Bestival on 9th September. To keep everyone on their toes of what to expect, we’re treated to footage of Friendly Fires busy rehearsing in the studio to create an unmissable live experience. On top of that, the band have put together a damn good DJ mix for Rizlab.

The host of brilliant dance acts in SBTRKT, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (T.E.E.D.) and LONE, have all been working on the collaborations they will perform live with Friendly Fires for the first and last time on Friday night at Bestival. Friendly Fires commented: “The rehearsals have given us a sense of what everything will sound like on the day for the first time. Everything has been in our heads for a while but now we’re really excited about how these tracks that we love are being fleshed out.”

Alongside all of this goodness, Rizlab’s line-up for Bestival has been revealed. Legendary DJ’s Erol Alkan and Rory Philips will play back-to-back, whilst the likes of Mylo, Hannah Holland, Black Devil Disco Club and many more will be running tracks throughout the weekend. This is definitely an event to sign off British festival season, particularly at Bestival.

Check out Friendly Fires’ rehearsals and their special Rizlab mix, with tracklist to follow. Details about Rizlab’s line-up for Bestival is further below.
