On Bestival’s Friday night, RizLab played host to a Friendly Fires’ curated exploration of ‘The Past, Present and Future of Dance Music’. This included special live performances of collaborations between Friendly Fires and SBTRKT, Lone and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (T.E.E.D). The night ended with DJ sets from the legendary A Guy Called Gerald and Frankie Knuckles. Having been fortunate myself to see the whole event come to life on stage was definitely something, as it was held in a beautifully set outdoor arena at Bestival.
The remainder of the festival saw the likes of Erol Alkan, Rory Phillips, Hannah Holland, Mylo and Gaggle take to the RizLab stage, running big sets to a packed-out crowd.
Check out the video footage of Friendly Fires’ live collaborative tracks with Lone and T.E.E.D. See Lone and Ed from Friendly Fires perform live their collaborated one-off track especially made for Bestival called ‘Love Like Waves’, and T.E.E.D. with the whole band perform an extended live version of his ‘Hawaiian Air’ remix.
