Monday, 4 July 2011

To kick start the week with Monday’s dose of music, comes in the form of Rizzle Kicks. This talented young rapping and singing duo born in London, reign from Brighton and attended the legendary Brit School, have been waiting to shine for a while and the spot light’s definitely on them now.

Rizzle Kicks are vocalist/MC’s Sylvester and Rizzle, who describe their sound as ‘indie-hop’ – don’t be out off by it. Their musical influences are eclectically drawn from the likes of Pete Doherty and Beck, to Dizzee Rascal and P Money. Where artists have failed to successfully fuse a mix of genres, Rizzle Kicks make it sound effortless.

There’s a definite buzz about Rizzle Kicks. Their music’s unique as it’s grime, hip hop, rock and indie that’s all finely blended together. They’re both 17, hold bags of skills, wit and charisma and are undeniably British, that all comes across in their music and videos.

Check their tunes out below; starting off with their current single, ‘Down With The Trumpets’ that’s incredibly catchy and available to cop now. Following that is their impressive cover of Jesse J’s ‘Price Tag’ which has set tongues wagging recently and to top it all of is their debut single, ‘Prophet (Better Watch It)’.

Listen in and enjoy! Expect to hear more from Rizzle Kicks in the near future.
