Every week this month I will be speaking to different models in the industry and getting an insightful look into what they do and how they do it. I will be speaking to 4 different models this month and finding out what really goes on behind the filming and photography.
First off, I will be interviewing a friend of mine model Eva Rose Lane from London.
HQ: Hello there, tell us at WeAreHQ little bit about yourself, what do you do and what your hobbies and interests?
EVA: Hey, my name is Eva Rose Lane I am 19 years old, I model and cast in music videos. One of my hobbies is make-up, I absolutely adore it and it eventually got me into modeling. I enjoy having a giggle with friends and watching TV. I am an oldie at heart but I do like to have a boogie now again, who doesn’t hey?
HQ: I certainly like to shake a leg whenever I can so you are not alone there Miss. Lane! So doing make up got you into modeling? When did you decide to start modeling and make the switch from applying cosmetics to actually getting pampered on set?
EVA: Now that would be funny you literally shaking a leg whenever you can, random Mr. Esguerra but definitely a giggle for me (laughs) Well it all started when I was being boring and wanted to stay indoors but my friends forced me out one night and decided to go to an event some of our friends at Clubkings where hosting which turned out to be the Nuts Babe Search and for a giggle, “shake a leg” I went.
I got asked by Nut’s to join the “Babe Search” and I remember saying to one guy there “Modeling? Me? Never, I will stick to makeup thank you!” So soon after that night I was contacted by an agency after some photo’s of me where published on the Clubking’s website. I was approached cast in a music video; it all kicked off from that night and after the agency contacted me.
I was not sure at first but I thought I would see how it goes and maybe get some tips on make-up from the artists at the shoot and develop my skills, as that was my drive. But I excelled job after job and here I am today doing facial modeling, videos and clothing.

HQ: Eva what are you trying to say? I will have you know I’m amazing on the dance floor (laughs) Okay, so it all started after being spotted on what you thought to be any other night out. Who have you worked with on set so far?
EVA: Al what I am trying to say is just the sight of shaking a leg would be a night out for me (laughs) I have worked with a fair share of people but a lady never name drops! (laughs) All I’m going to say is I have a big video premiering very soon so keep an eye open on MTV and you will see me here and there “shaking a leg” or robbing banks and being the love interest.
HQ: I’ll tell you what we will have a dance off! (laughs) Okay Miss “Secretive” Let’s talk about how things get done on set. What is the environment like? How does it normally all go down on a day of a video shoot?
EVA: Of course it will be M.J vs. Ricky Gervais’s office moves (me being M.J of course (laughs) Secretive is the name Mr. Well you will of course arrive on time, introduce yourself to photographer, make-up artist, hair stylist and other models on set. The shoots generally take a day or two depending on the settings and how organized everything is. It’s set at a lovely pace if you are the individual on set but say if you are in a club scene and it can get really chaotic. There is a time limit and you’re in a room full of hundreds of women, all waiting to have their hair and make-up done. Wearing heels from 7 am in the morning until 2 am is very painful. I actually remember the first shoot I did, in my mind I was like “easy peasy!” but I was wrong! I had a sore face from constant make up changes and sore feet from wearing heels all day (laughs). You have to go into a shoot with the right mentality because it can sometimes be “no pain no gain. You should come to my next shoot Al maybe I can show you some moves? (laughs)
HQ: That sounds pretty hectic “no pain no gain” indeed. It’s not all a walk in a park as some people make it out to be! So I can imagine maintaining a fine healthy figure is essential for you. How do you do it? Oh and off the record Eva, I do not want to show you up with my Office dance moves. It might end in tragedy! (laughs)
EVA: It is indeed, never under estimate a model or her dance skills (laughs) No it definitely isn’t. For example certain jobs require certain models whether it’s ethnicity, height or look. When modeling you’re a diva, you want get people keen to work with you so portraying your personality is important. A healthy figure? I think curves in right place and to be honest your not living unless you eat the food you want to eat! Being part English, Irish, Greek and Brazilian I tend to like a lot of food. But for you ladies I have a great tip, 2 bottles of water a day works wonders. But the rest is no secret with make-up, hair and tan, all deceiving “Mr. Bust A Move” (laughs) as I said your Ricky Gervias with your Office dance moves! (laughs)
HQ: Cheeky! English, Irish, Greek and Brazilian! Now that is a mix! Well before we conclude, what advice would you give to any ladies aspiring to model and break into the industry?
EVA: I know, I am a mix indeed! Well I would say unless it’s in your heart and not just in it for acclaim, go for it! Because when you do it just to be seen you will not last. Do it because you want to be a model. Be careful whom you work with and make sure they are legitimate and you’re looked after. Be you! It’s good to have an opinion if you have an idea that can help during a shoot but be prepared for criticism. As I like to say: “Don’t let your victories go to your head or failures go to your heart” – “I do not know what the key to success is, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.”
HQ: Thank you for speaking with us at WeAreHQ Miss Lane it has been very insightful and we look forward to speaking to you again soon and we wish you all the best in with your modelling career.
EVA: It’s been a pleasure to speak with WeAreHQ! Thank you for the lovely interview! I will definitely keep up to date with WeAreHQ! Anyway I will be seeing you soon for a dance-off! (mwah)
Keep an eye out for Eva’s videos on MTV/Base/KISS/ and shoots for various brands.
Next week we speak to another model and do it all over again! Stay tuned!
